Name of Product: Kawasaki FT730V-EFI Lawn Mower Engines
Hazard: The high-pressure fuel line can get damaged by contact with the fuel pump cover, causing a fuel leak that poses burn and fire hazards.
Remedy: Repair
Consumers should immediately stop using mowers with the recalled engines and contact Kawasaki or a Kawasaki dealer to schedule a free repair. Kawasaki is contacting all known purchasers directly.

Units: About 33,100
Description: This recall involves Kawasaki engines used in riding lawn mowers sold under the Ferris brand name with mower models IS 7002 2TR, ISX 8002 2TR and ISX 22002 2TR and under the SCAG brand name with mower models Tiger Cat 11 and V Ride II. The recalled engines are model year 2018 through 2022 Kawasaki FT730V EFI series. "Kawasaki FT730V EFI" is printed on the engine air filter cover. The engine model and serial number are located on the engine fan housing. The following model and serial number ranges are included in this recall:
Incidents/Injuries: Kawasaki has received four reports of incidents involving the high pressure fuel lines leaking including one fire. No injuries have been reported.
Sold at: Kawasaki, Ferris, and SCAG dealers nationwide from November 2017 through September 2022 for between $8,000 and $13,000 for mowers with Kawasaki FT730V EFI engines.

This recall involves Kawasaki engines used in riding lawnmowers sold under the Ferris brand name with mower model numbers IS® 700Z ZTR and ISX™ 800Z ZTR. The recalled engines are model year 2018 and 2019 Kawasaki FT730V-EFI series, including models FT730V-AS41 with serial number range FT730VA00107-FT730VA00593 and FT730V-BS41 with serial number range FT730VA02330-FT730VA05073. “Kawasaki FT730V EFI” is printed on the engine air filter cover. The engine model and serial number are located on the engine fan housing.

This recall involves Kawasaki engines used in riding lawnmowers sold under the Ferris brand name with mower model number IS® 2100Z ZTR and the Cub Cadet Pro Z 760 LKW EFI . The recalled engines are model year 2017 and 2018 Kawasaki FX850V-EFI series, including models FX850V-AS44 with serial number range FX850VB19736-FX850VB44147 and FX850V-AS47 with serial number range FX850VB20733-FX850VB40776. “Kawasaki FX850V EFI” is printed on the engine fan housing. The engine model and serial number are located on the engine fan housing.
Hazard: The fuel injector can leak excessive amounts of fuel into the engine, posing burn and fire hazards.
Units: About 950
Sold At: Kawasaki dealers and lawn and garden stores nationwide from June 2017 through August 2019 for about $2,800 for the engines sold separately, and for between $10,000 and $12,000 for mowers with the engines.

Fuel Filter
Recalled product includes eligible Kawasaki FE, FH, FJ, FR, FS and FX series engines installed to riding lawn mowers, wide-area walk-behind lawn mowers and utility vehicles sold nationwide between October 2011 and August 2012. Eligible engine serial number and fuel filter manufacturing date ranges are included in table at the end of this alert. The engine model and serial number is located on the engine blower housing as shown below. The fuel filter manufacturing date is located on the fuel filter as shown below. Only engines between the listed serial numbers with fuel filters manufactured between the eligible date codes are part of this recall.
Fuel filters were also sold separately and included in tune-up kits manufactured between October 2011 and August 2012. Eligible fuel filters are identified by the manufacturing date code listed in the table at the end of this recall alert.
Hazard: The fuel filter, installed between the fuel tank and fuel pump of select applications may leak. Leaking fuel increases the chance of fire on general purpose engine applications.
Remedy: Customers should stop using recalled engines immediately, even if no filter leak is detected. Customers should contact the nearest Kawasaki dealer as soon as possible to make arrangements to have the equipment repaired free of charge. Customers that wish to complete this repair on their own should contact Kawasaki Motors Corp., U.S.A. toll free at (866) 836-4463 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. EST, or e-mail ffrecall@kmc-usa.com for further instructions and a free repair kit. Customers will need to have their engine model code and serial number available when calling.
