Regional Sales Manager to Oversee District Manager Personnel.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (Sept. 12, 2011)---Kawasaki Motors Corp., U.S.A. Engine and Power Products Division announced today the appointment of Paul Johnson to the newly created position of Regional Sales Manager. He assumes his new responsibilities with this growing division effective immediately.

Johnson’s 23 years of industry sales experience, and the last 11 years with Golden Eagle Distributing Corporation, also includes national responsibilities as a product trainer. At Kawasaki, he will oversee eight of the company’s District Manager sales team, primarily encompassing the middle section of the United States.

“Paul’s significant sales experience and management skills will strengthen and compliment a professional field team that has helped the company make tremendous inroads in the past few years,” said Karen Howard, National Sales Manager-Dealer Channel.

Kawasaki’s recent growth has been attributed to product category strength as well as programs and policies, according to Howard.

“With an ever-expanding sales base, we saw the need to create a supervisory position that would provide even more support to the retail and wholesale needs in the field, and Paul’s past industry involvement puts us in a position to better serve that direction,” added Howard.

Johnson, who holds a Bachelor’s degree in business management from Western Michigan University, has several years of experience as both a District and Regional Sales Manager. He will maintain an office at the company’s Grand Rapids headquarters, but will be spending the majority of his time in the field with the sales team and dealers.

Johnson said “I’m looking forward to contributing to Kawasaki’s continued sales growth, and I’m fortunate to be working with a seasoned team that has built established relationships upon which we’ll be able to expand.”
